Cyber Crimes can be broadly classified into the segments of – Conventional Crimes committed through computers; and, Crimes where the computer is besieged.
Actions which have been categorically recognized as offenses under the Act are:
- Child Pornography
- Cyber Stalking
- Cyber Defamation
- Denial of Service Attack
- Virus Dissemination
- Software Piracy
Computer Forensics can be defined as the process of applying computer science to aid the legal process. The process is carried out in a manner which adheres to the standards of evidence and is admissible in a court of law. Certain basic guidelines which better be carried out during such process are: Preservation of the Evidence; Analysis of the Evidence; and, Presentation of the Findings.
